Hi, this is my first post over here, so forgive me, if I'll ask about something mentioned before. I own MacBook Pro (mid 2010) with Mac OS X Lion. I think about getting myself an Apple TV. However, I have one question. Due to information on Apple website it is possible to use AirPlay Mirroring only on Apple computer newer than early 2011.

  • Some features require the latest software. Second-generation Apple TV or later required. AirPlay Mirroring is available with iPad 2 or later; iPhone 4S; iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer) and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer) with Mountain Lion.
  • With EveryMac.com's 'White Polycarbonate Unibody' MacBook Q&A you can get answers to all of your questions about the MacBook models that are molded as one piece of white polycarbonate (which Apple refers to as the 'Late 2009' and 'Mid-2010' MacBook models, and that share model number A1342).

A must-see Siri suggestion.

When Siri suggests a show to watch — on the Lock Screen or in search — it will also include an option to use AirPlay. So one quick tap on a Siri suggestion, and you’re watching your favorite show on your favorite screen.

You pick the show. AirPlay picks the TV.

Now AirPlay can automatically play movies and shows in the places you’re most likely to watch them. Over time, AirPlay learns where you prefer to watch TV, and can start playing to the TV in that room with just a tap.
